Stay Organised in Microsoft Teams with New Chat Menu and Mentions View
Do you ever feel swamped by the endless chats, channels, and notifications in Microsoft Teams? Here’s some good news: Microsoft is releasing an update aimed at simplifying your experience. This update will create a more organised workspace by bringing everything together under the Chat menu. Imagine it as a central location where all your important conversations and notifications can be found.
Additionally, there will be a new @mentions view that consolidates all your direct messages and key mentions in one place, making it easier to stay on top of messages you’re tagged in and ensuring you don’t miss crucial notifications. Teams will also feature enhanced filters and controls, allowing you to filter out less important alerts and set up custom sections to keep your chats, channels, and meetings sorted by project or topic.
Another exciting addition is a favourites section where you can pin your most important chats and channels for easy access. Plus, threaded conversations are expected to launch around mid-2025, which means replies will be grouped together in threads for clearer discussions without losing track of earlier messages.
These enhancements will be available on desktop, Android, and iOS devices so your team can stay connected no matter where they are.
If you haven’t started using Teams for communication in your business yet, now is the perfect time to begin.
